Yes, we bought shirts

No, last week we did not have AZ Cardinals shirts, but we got them this week. Yes, we did cheer for them all year, but like many others, did not believe in this moment. As I am writing this we are in the fourth quarter and just scored as I wrote the above lines. Like a true female in this family, I get nervous during the fourth quarter and can't watch.

Anyway our day was filled with fun, food and great friends and family...
Ryan's white chili and Liz's red chili--Yum

BOOOO 3D--week sauce
Alas, the Cardinals did not win today, but it was a fun game to watch! As a consolation prize NBC is giving us an hour-long Office episode--thank you!

Henry and Halloween

As a lot of you know, Henry had his surgery on Thursday. He did very well. Everything is fixed and healing well (as far as we can tell). We loved our nurses and PA and of course Dr. Argueso was amazing. The surgery only took an hour and I felt peaceful waiting for the doctor to come out. When I went back to the recovery room after Henry woke up his monkey was dressed as a surgeon--we love the people at St. Joe's! I would have pictures, but Ryan did not want a photo record of the surgery...I can understand.
Thank you for praying, we felt covered. I feel very relieved, it seemed as though I had been holding my breath for the past few months and I can finally exhale. I am thankful for our family and friends who are so faithful to pray and help with Henry during this healing time.
Henry was doing so well that we decided to take him to the Apache Junction Parks and Rec Halloween Carnival. He was very sleepy, but excited to be outside and with his cousins.
My mom's Halloween tradition is to buy enough candy for about 100 trick-or-treaters, but only about 8 show up every year. We don't mind, she always buys the best candy.

My only sadness for Halloween night was not being able to hand out candy with Jodi, a Halloween tradition. Well except for the year Lisa talked me in to shutting off the lights and hiding in the back room, so the trick-or-treaters would not think anyone was home. But Jodi did show up that night and I helped her find all our old candy around the house, mainly the stuff my mom would send for holidays, and hand it out with her.

Who loves the zoo?

Not ME! Sorry, add bad mom to bad wife.
On Labor Day I had the big idea of going to the zoo with our family. Me and Ryan, Henry, my baby sister Tara, my big sister Liz, my brother-in-law Wayne and the other loves of my life my nephews Zach and Zane all ventured out to one of the top 5 zoos in the U.S.--the Phoenix Zoo.

It was a nice warm day in sunny Arizona. Actually it was hot, with the occasional cloud covers that we were thankful for.

So who loved the zoo? Zach of course did reading us the signs and running to all the exhibits. He was only disappointed by the animals who were too hot to come and acknowledge his presence...most of them did come over to him. I heard a few times from Zach, "Why are all the animals looking at me?" The elephant even stopped what he/she was doing and came over to him.

2 year old Zane loved it! He was soooo excited and cute about EVERYTHING, especially the orangutans!

Henry also loved the zoo...he loved to point at everything just like his cousins. I knew Henry would like it based on our daily bird watching...and he did even with no nap!

At the end of the day, I was ready to leave, but knew I would be back. Although I do not personally like the zoo...I love three little boys who LOVE the zoo!
