What A Week

Have I said lately how much I love elementary school aged kids. It is the end of my week in the Discovery Room and I almost tied myself to the door. But then I remembered that I get to be in there again in two weeks. YES!

Bendy-Straw Fireworks

So, you may have noticed that there have been some "stars" of my blog. I have this thing for trying to keep kids anonymous unless I know them well. This week that meant, to name a few, the Reynolds kids (above) picture, the Hunts and a lot of Daders, Miss Kim's son who is soooo photogenic anyway.

Day 1

Loved Day One in the Discovery Room. It was a day filled with lots of red, white and glue...I mean blue. The day zipped by with just a few interesting detours. For instance the imaginary friend of one of my students who would not leave the room even when I asked her to, so hoping she decides not to show up tomorrow...those imaginary friends, you just can't get them to do what you want.

Kim and I helped a lot on these and they don't move as well as we would have liked them to, but they are a great decoration, I highly recommend this project.

This week at the Little Prospector Preschool, I get to be in the Discovery Room or "the Big Kid Room" and I am just giddy about it. I get to do projects with kids that can do it on their own or at least most of it. We will be making these

We will also be reading Because of Winn Dixie. I think the themes of this book ring true for a few kids in my class.
