Have you picked citrus fruit lately, well citrus trees are mean. They don't really have thorns, but they are prickly and I have been battling our citrus trees for a couple of weeks now and although I have fruit to show for it, I also have scratches all over my arms. I finally found my dad's fruit picker and I am winning more than I am loosing. The bucket above represents about 4 cups of juice. YUUUUUUUMMMMMMM! Another reason to love Arizona!

Sleeping through the night?
Yes, yes we are. Bittersweet though. I will miss my sweet baby being instantly comforted. I loved those quiet moments. I knew those moments would come to an end. It was worth every bit of sleep I did not get and antibiotics I had to take. I love you sweet two-bananas-a-day monkey.

Do you hear what I hear?
Henry's surgery went splendid. We arrived at the surgery center, where we paid in full for the procedure. I handed the receptionist my debit card like we had the money in the bank, as a chucked my insurance card in my purse secretly flipping it off because what good does it do anyway. (I found out later that everyone pays up front no matter what kind of insurance you have.)
Anyhoo, we had been through the surgery drill before and I had to keep myself from saying...I know, I know. Dr McKenna came in and made us laugh and told us the surgery would be done in a wink. I loved the nurse who came and got Henry, mainly because she took him quickly, but also because he did not cry with her for some reason.
I went to the bathroom and 2 minutes later, Dr. McKenna was saying, "Congratulations you are the proud Grandparents of two baby tubes!" He also said that Henry would instantly feel better and hear better because he syringed a ton of mucus out of his ear...pour guy.
Soon after the doctor was done talking Henry was coming out of anesthesia slashing around. We took him home and he was playing like nothing had happened...cool.
Now if I could just figure out the orange ear plugs!

Mommas don't let your babies grow up to be...
Well, I do not have a nice word for it. Tricia would say we are A-Holes. What it comes down to is this--my sisters and I (yes, even you Liz) like to tease my mom. And our latest thing to tease my mom about is this...

Tara needed some neosporin and my mom swore she had some, so Tara looked all over and as she was just giving up, mom found the above tube of "ointment". Because Tara did not really know what Boric Acid was (who does) she looked at the packaging closer and found the exPIration date. Yes, folks it was a little old. First of all it was OSCO brand and OSCO has been long out of business in AJ. Second of all the expiration date said, very clearly, March 1995. Tara was ten when this expired. Needless to say it was not used. My mom said she threw it away today, but I have a feeling she is going to put it in our food when we are not looking, because we won't shut up about it.
NOTE: Sorry mom it had to be shared. We love you and we love you for saving everything, even things from the 90's.

Ears are not my friend
Tomorrow, bright and early at 7:00am, Henry Boy will go under once again, this time for tubes in his ears. The nurse says it will take as long as going to get a cup of coffee and coming back. The doctor said maybe ten minutes. Henry has been suffering from ear infections on and off since we moved to Arizona. We tried the chiropractor, which worked for a while. The problem is the chiro cannot check his ears to see if it worked. Henry, like his mother a year ago, has been prescribed every antibiotic known to man, only to have his infection come back a day or two after we stop the meds. So, he will be one of those kids with ear plugs in the pool. Oh well.
I want to write a children's book about going to the doctor. I know there are a gajillion, but every time we are at the doctor, which is at least twice a week, I wish I had a good, special book to read Henry.
Oh ya, Henry also went to urgent care a week ago. He hit his head, smack in the middle on the bottom hinge of the door. He has had many falls, mainly caused by his abilities not yet matching his confidence level. I am sure this will be one of many. The first time I ever went to the hospital or the ER was when I was pregnant. Raising boys is a tad different on the injury scale...so I've been told. Luckily we have a hospital income policy with State Farm, that really has come in handy and I am sure that it will continue to help us out financially. (I know, shameless plug for State Farm, but it is true.)
Poor guy, first the Cardinals, now this.

Yes, we bought shirts
No, last week we did not have AZ Cardinals shirts, but we got them this week. Yes, we did cheer for them all year, but like many others, did not believe in this moment. As I am writing this we are in the fourth quarter and just scored as I wrote the above lines. Like a true female in this family, I get nervous during the fourth quarter and can't watch.
Anyway our day was filled with fun, food and great friends and family...
