Why Me?

When my Nana was diagnosed with cancer in the 80's I remember her telling us that her first question to God was, "Why me?" She said she was very angry and was so confused about why this would happen to her. Then she said after a while of asking "Why Me?" she realized, "Why not me? What is so great about me that I should be too good for cancer?"

This has stuck with me ever since. She modeled humility and grace that day about 20 years ago. I knew the Lord loved her, yet he allowed this to happen. She went on to beat the odds and beat cancer and live a full life full of trust in the Lord.

I wish I could have been there when she met her Savior face to face. I hope she got to see all the ways she showed all those around her the love and grace of Jesus everyday of her long life.

Oh Butt-Tricia

Even though our little mur-tricia babaluska only got to be here for 24 hours, we are glad she got to come back and love on Nana and us.

Auntie Tara taught Henry how to say, "Auntie" about 6 weeks ago and now he calls all of his aunties "Auntie." He also says, "Tricia" as of two days ago. He is so very smart--says his partial mother.

The MAC is Back

And I am not talking about politics!

I found my computer cord. I thought it was lost forever in the Abyss we call our storage unit! No, it was packed in a box at my mom's. I was a little frustrated that it was in a box in Henry's room all this time, but I quickly got over it knowing I would be reunited with my iBook G4 in a matter of minutes. Free from viruses, free from pop-ups, free from all things vista. All my pictures, all my folders, all my music...BACK!

The last picture down loaded to the Mac...

Welcome home mac, welcome home!

Nani Pani to a Hani

That's what I call my Nana...
I was remembering one time telling my Nana that all the prayers I ever prayed in hospital bathrooms (for my Aunt Kathy when she had the twins and for my Nana when she had cancer) were answered in the way that I asked. She said, "Maybe it is because that was when you were your most vulnerable with the Lord--there in the bathroom with your pants down." We both laughed.

My Nana always has the best answers.

She's going to be with Jesus soon. Lucky her...unlucky us.

Henry Update

Henry is doing very well. He had is first doctors appointment after the surgery and got his catheter out...yippee! Henry seems more relaxed and comfortable. He does not have to take any more of his medicine is very happy about that. We have another appointment in 4 weeks to see how things are healing.
We continue to be thankful to the Lord, Dr. Argueso, and our PA (Marilyn, I think) and to all who have prayed and continue to pray for Henry. We also think of Ben Byard, if it wasn't for him, we may have never met our wonderful doctor.

1227

With new Arizona liscense and voter registration card in hand, I stood in line at 5:45am. Voter number 1227. I was more than giddy this morning as I walked out of the Moose Lodge. I've never been more proud to be an American.
